Political Insanity

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. Since January 3, 1953, Illinois' 2nd Congressional District has experienced complete, uninterrupted Democrat representation. Has that improved your life? Have those representatives brought you world-class education? Have they given you simple, affordable healthcare? Have they given you a community where you feel safe to walk your neighborhood alone at night? Have they brought thriving businesses and industries into your community so you can make enough money to comfortably provide for your family and invest in your own future? In other words, what has 66 years of loyalty to the Democrat Party done for YOU?

Some say "all politicians are the same, all talk, no action." I believe actions speak louder than words. That's why I decided to run to be your Congresswoman. You see, I'm not a politician. I'm a regular person, just like you. I'm new to campaigning. But, my "inexperience" as a politician is not a weakness. It is my strength! I have always believed that we, the people, are much better at fixing problems than the smooth-talking politicians. I have real-world, common sense solutions for the problems that we face. It's time to stop slapping Band-Aids on problems. It's time to dig deep and cure our problems.

I am ready on Day One to introduce a variety of bills aimed at targeting the sources of our problems from health care to education to immigration and beyond. If you want different results, you have to take a leap of faith and vote differently than you have for the past 65 years. Your choice is simple:

1) Maintain your loyalty to a party who has run our communities into the ground for 66 years and get the same abysmal results, or

2) Take a chance on the Republican candidate and at least have a CHANCE at different, better results.

I was born in Kankakee, IL and raised mostly in Bradley and Bourbonnais (home of the Bears' summer training camp). As an adult, I have lived in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and New York City. I'm a lifelong Christian, baptized at age 9, then again at age 41 (2016).

I have certificates from two different trade schools, a Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Governors State University in University Park, IL, and I have been to law school. I was a 2L (2nd year) when I quit. I have done pro bono legal work in the areas of criminal law and civil law. I worked for Cigna Health Care for over 9 years prior to law school. I understand the insurance industry inside and out.

I am married with three daughters that I home school. Being the sole teacher of our daughters has taught me a lot about teaching, learning, and education. Two of my daughters are a set of identical twins, so I am very well aware that no two children learn in the exact same way, even if their DNA is exactly the same.

Although my husband is the sole provider of our family, we are very far from wealthy. Our household income is right in line with the median household income for Illinois 2nd Congressional District. We live paycheck to paycheck, just like many of you. I'm frugal by nature. Yes, I am that mom that gets excited about toilet paper being on sale.

I have been a successful business owner in the past. I have also written a 600-page book on United States History and our 2-party political system. Shortly after finding a publisher, I suspended publishing until after this campaign.

I never had any desire to enter politics. Actually, I preferred to stay out of the limelight. For 26 years, I have watched politicians continue to have the same old, tired arguments about the same old, tired issues. It finally dawned on me, "these idiots don't have a clue how to actually solve problems!"

What frustrates me the most is that people like to go to Washington to "find" solutions. I don't think Washington has the answers. We, the American people, have the answers. But, politicians are not listening to us. This campaign is my attempt to:

A) Present my solutions to you, the people of Illinois' 2nd Congressional District,

B) Get feedback from you, my fellow constituents,

C) Make modifications to my solutions, based on that feedback,

D) Get elected,

E) Go to Washington and work my behind off to get OUR solutions passed.

I do have solutions, plans, and policies. But I want your input, so I can fine tune what I have. I don't just want to take MY solutions to Washington. I want to take OUR solutions to Washington. That is why I need you to tell me what you think about my plans - the good, the bad, the ugly, and how to make it better.

Your representative in Washington should be your advocate, your voice, your vehicle to get your ideas and suggestions in front of those who can actually work with your ideas and suggestions. Bring me all your ideas. I WILL take them to Washington.

I've been a Democrat, a Republican, and an "anti-incumbent" voter. I have been disappointed more often than I have been impressed by politicians. I have had struggles and successes. As your Congresswoman, you will finally have the representation that you have always wanted, but have never gotten. Until NOW!
